1968 Holman & Moody 427 FE Roadrace Car
!! ONE BAD ASS MUSTANG !!
Holman & Moody was contracted to build and export 3 of these 1968 427 -7liter Mustang Sedans specifically prepared for European Saloon Car roadracing. These cars were Homologated under FIA Group II, #1511 and have well documented European race history, thereby making them eligible for US Vintage club racing, ie SVRA group 6. These cars were fitted with the same 427 FE Medium-Riser side-oiler engine package as were the Ford GT-40s at that time, with many unique “export only” parts never available in the USA, which were built by Ford, for use in their foreign racing programs, such as special aluminum 427 medium-riser heads and intake manifolds. This car #3 has been correctly "reconstructed" to a 1969 point in time as when campaigned by Martin Birrane of Great Britain. This car has spared no expense in drivetrain and chassis development to run in front of the AP 427 Corvettes. A recent high point was winning the Main Event of the of the Grand 2013 60th Anniversary of the Corvette at the Portland Historics, beating ALL the Corvettes - you can well imagine how that frustrated the bow-tie boys. Engine, trans, rearend and brakes have all been professionally built with the best of parts for endurance road racing. I do not wish to make these specifications public to the internet, but will reveal all details to a serious buyer. If you are seeking a truely front runner - - this car is it. You can buy this dominate turn-key Car for $125,000, that would otherwise cost twice that amount to R&D and build. ** 2015 NOTE: This prototype car is no longer for sale (as we are having too much fun) , however our team could still build you an exact clone. Call for additional Info (541) 462-3330 - Larry Currently 1 Clone is under construction. ** PRE-SOLD ** youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SeW612LX6I&feature=youtu.be |
